World's First Hundred-Kilometer-Level Hydrogen-Powered Long-Range Multi-Rotor Unmanned Aerial Vehicle - Tianmushan No.1's Debut

TapTechNews August 27th news, on the afternoon of August 26th, the first flight ceremony of the world's first hundred-kilometer-level hydrogen-powered long-range multi-rotor unmanned aerial vehicle - Tianmushan No.1 was held at the Hangzhou International Campus of Beihang University.

Worlds First Hundred-Kilometer-Level Hydrogen-Powered Long-Range Multi-Rotor Unmanned Aerial Vehicle - Tianmushan No.1's Debut_0

Tianmushan No.1 is an unmanned aerial vehicle developed by the Research and Application of High-performance Airborne Hydrogen Power System team of Tianmushan Laboratory to solve the industry pain points of insufficient endurance and low temperature resistance of industrial unmanned aerial vehicles. It is the world's first hundred-kilometer-level hydrogen-powered multi-rotor unmanned aerial vehicle, and also the world's first mass-produced hydrogen-powered unmanned aerial vehicle with integrated parachute design.

According to Tianmushan Laboratory, Tianmushan No.1 adopts the independently developed hydrogen fuel cell power system, an integrated molded lightweight carbon fiber fuselage, and integrates the intelligent parachute system design and custom four-type carbon fiber hydrogen storage cylinder, with characteristics of ultra-long endurance, ultra-low temperature environment adaptability and zero-carbon environmental protection. The empty weight is 19 pounds (about 8.62 kg), the maximum load weight is 13.2 pounds (about 6 kg), and the maximum endurance is more than 4 hours, and the main performance and product design have reached the industry-leading level.

In addition, the Tianmushan No.1 hydrogen-powered unmanned aerial vehicle has the technical ability of one-key autonomous takeoff and landing and 100-mile beyond-visual-range continuous operation, thus changing the application mode of traditional industrial unmanned aerial vehicles. It has been demonstrated and applied in multiple scenarios such as oil and gas exploration, power inspection, emergency rescue, forest protection, and water conservancy monitoring, especially with irreplaceability in continuous long-distance operation and under northern cold conditions, and has broad market promotion and application prospects.

In January 2024, Tianmushan No.1 has completed the flight test in extremely cold conditions in Genhe, Inner Mongolia, and became the first multi-rotor unmanned aerial vehicle to achieve continuous flight for more than 100 minutes at -40℃.

In March 2024, this model carried out demonstration operations in the inspection of natural gas pipeline leakage in northern Shaanxi, and carried multiple loads to fly along the undulating Loess Plateau for more than 2 hours, continuously inspecting for 50 kilometers, becoming a breakthrough application achievement in the industry.

On August 22nd, 2024, this model just completed the continuous flight test in the high-altitude and low-oxygen environment of the more than 14,764 feet (about 4500 meters) altitude plateau in Nyingchi, Tibet, and the flight status was good.

On the same day, the representative innovative achievement of Tianmushan Laboratory - the internal test version of the IDM-Alpha material vertical field large language model was also successfully released, and other Tianmushan series achievements are also being accelerated in development.

TapTechNews found out that Tianmushan Laboratory is the Zhejiang Provincial Laboratory approved by the People's Government of Zhejiang Province and is the only high-level platform in the Double Ten platform in Zhejiang that focuses on the aviation field.
